Today's discussion is with Udhan Chordia and Umang Chorida, CEO and Head of Business Development of Medopharm respectively. They are father and son, members of the family owning Medopharm Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer and exporter of pharmaceutical products from India. Medopharm joined Kemiex in 2020 and is progressively working on digitizing their procurement in order to upgrade internal processes and access new unexpected market opportunities. Here you can read their feedback shared with our team:
As a family-owned company with a long history, Medopharm has always strived for long-term growth and continuous improvement through innovation. This is achieved by periodically reviewing and assessing the status quo of the company in order to find new ways of doing things, especially in key areas such as procurement.
Our reputation is a key asset for us, so a main prerequisite for us was that we are not willing to risk doing business with unreliable companies, and Kemiex has a unique offering with their GDP-certified onboarding process which convinced us to try. Our goal when joining Kemiex was to take advantage of new technologies while maintaining the essence of our business, which is strongly rooted in longstanding relationships and reputation. So far, we are very happy with the platform and are working together with the Kemiex team to further take advantage of its potential.
In Kemiex we have found a tool where we can benefit from the technology and from digital channels without sacrificing the quality of our relationships with suppliers and partners.
Their innovative membership models ensure that prices we receive are as competitive inside as they would be via traditional channels.
Keeping in mind the vision of digitizing some key processes, we have drafted a progressive plan with the Kemiex team to maximize the value for our organization in the long term. For this reason, we agreed on a two-phase combined approach:
Things can get more complex in big organizations, so we still did not leverage the platform to its maximum extend. However, in the first year we have been able to experience some very promissing milestones. Thanks to the marketplace we now connect with existing suppliers but have also done business with other leading suppliers globally. The tool allows us to stream-line negotiations and aggregate all communication channels in one single place to increase the productivity of our procurement team.
Additionally, the insights section provides us information to be updated about the markets through their exclusive reports and the breaking news from all around the world, some of which would otherwise be quite hard to find online.
The team is also something that surprised me compared to other online platforms we have dealt with in the past. They are always very supportive and willing to go the extra mile to help us to achieve our goals. We are working together as one team to embrace digitalization.
Medopharm was founded in the 1970's and has become a major player in the pharmaceutical industry in India and abroad. The company has been awarded as part of the Top10 Contract Manufacturers in India, and is a WHO pre-qualified supplier. Medopharm manufactures over 250 products and has grown multifold earning the trust to become one of the most respected pharmaceutical companies in India and abroad. As of today, it carries over 70 domestic brands and exports generic drugs to over 100 countries across the globe.
If you want to know more about how Kemiex can help you to achive your goals, we will be happy to support you.
