Demand for ingredients used in food and medicine, which mostly come from China, has outstripped supply in the past two weeks as the coronavirus outbreak raises fears of a prolonged disruption in supply chains. “We would say about three times more demand than we would typically see in normal market situations,” says Pau Franquet, CEO of Kemiex, a Swiss-based global trade network.
