China 26 Ingredients Exports 2025 - Market Update for feed and food

This report provides technical analysis and visualization of export quantities from China to key regions for 26 selected ingredients used in feed, food, pharma and others.

Chinese export performance in 2025 reflected a complex landscape as the industry navigates geopolitical headwinds and a reshaping of global supply chains.

While global volumes for select ingredients like DL-Methionine and Vitamin E reached new records, the broader Vitamin and Amino Acid categories saw export volumes cool. North America and Europe experienced significantly reduced volumes led by trade tensions.

Global freight markets endured volatility throughout the past year, with spot rates swinging on trade policy shifts and demand spikes, while a potential increase in capacity released from a full return to Suez Canal could keep pressure on rates in 2026.

Export volumes by region

Chinese exports in 2025 remained bifurcated across product categories and regions. While global Vitamin volumes generally softened compared to 2024, Vitamins E, C, and B6 achieved record-breaking export levels. For Amino Acids, DL-Methionine exports expanded rapidly to reach new highs, contrasting with a slight contraction in Lysine and Threonine volumes.

North America and Europe both saw significantly fewer Chinese imports across many ingredients, led by geopolitical tensions and trade barriers such as tariffs and anti-dumping investigations. China continued to grow exports to Latin America and Southeast Asia for select products.

Vitamin E

In December 2025, Vitamin E exports from China were at ~14’437mt. Year-to-date exports were ~113’384mt, +1% or +965mt above 2024.

YTD exports to Europe are 33’498mt (up +18% YoY), Latin America at 20’301mt (up +12%), Southeast Asia at 21’429mt (up +6%) and North America at 19’833mt (down -35%). 

Vitamin A

In December 2025, Vitamin A exports from China were at ~766mt. Year-to-date exports were ~6’520mt, +3% or +171mt above 2024.

YTD exports to Southeast Asia are 1’418mt (up +16% YoY), Europe at 1’909mt (up +10%), Latin America at 704mt (down -20%) and North America at 764mt (down -32%). (Limited comparability as data includes 500/1’000/ 1’700/.. IU, Acetate/Palmitate/… forms.)

DL-Methionine

In December 2025, DL-Methionine exports from China were at ~37’651mt. Year-to-date exports were ~319’050mt, +23% or +59’018mt above 2024. YTD exports to Latin America are 86’277mt (up +35% YoY), Southeast Asia at 86’062mt (up +26%), Europe at 54’996mt (up +15%) and North America at 1’115mt (down -82%).
